Our exclusive Damascus knives are made from high quality carbon steels, forging to multiple layers into beautiful, strong and sharp Damascus steel blades. The steels are distinguished by their high purity (absence of unwanted elements such as phosphorous, sulfur etc.) and high carbon content. They can be hardened to a high degree and blades of extreme sharpness can be created which are easy to resharpen, too.

Because of its inner structure, stainless steel can't be ground as finely as carbon steel. For stainless steel, chromium is alloyed to ensure corrosion resistance. Chromium forms big carbides which prevent extremely fine sharpened cutting edges. By means of their hardness, these carbides enhance the durability of stainless steel blades. On the other hand, resharpening the blades becomes more difficult.
